Finally finished!!! This painting would not have taken so long if I had not had foot surgery after first starting it. You wouldn't think that a foot would cause problems with painting. Just let me assure you that it did and spare the drama.
The title "Djemba" refers to the drum for those of you who don't know and the title may change after I have 'lived' with this for awhile.
The model was in Scottsdale at an arts festival several years ago and graciously agreed to let me paint him. I was fascinated by his energy and his musicianship.
