Here's another little cactus study. When I get three done to my satisfaction I will frame and then them donate to a silent auction. Money from the auction is used by a local hospital to buy toys and food for struggling families at Christmas.
This is another 5x7 oil and is looking pretty good on my easel.

Thanks for the comment on my blog. Yes I agree... What she said about painting what you know not what you see IS just the opposite as I've learned. But I'm trying it. I got a post from Frank Gardner on my other blog (on blogspot... it's just the same post on another site) that I THINK I may be able to use to help me reconcile what Johanna is saying with what I have been taught in the past.
WHATEVER.... I'm glad I came by your site... Love these cacti... (correct for plural?) I haven't done a series... Maybe some day I'll try one.
